Dr McGregor usually uses Theatre 1 for hernia operations, and Theatre 3 for a list of Endoscopy and Colonoscopy operations.

Hernia Operation Setup

Purple theatre table.

2 Arm boards on theatre table.

Diathermy on right side at head end. Ensure there is enough Diathermy plates for list.

Lap stack at foot of bed. NO lap stack for open cases. Always ensure lap stack has a full carbon dioxide bottle and a full backup bottle attached.

2 pillow cases on arm boards to later secure patient arms by side.

Razor and tape for shaves.

Blueys. Ensure enough blueys in theatre.
